A few years ago, I rented a lower level unit in a house along this street, pardisal Parkhill Road. It was a temporary home for me, my first Halifax home when I moved here in 2012. In some ways, I feel like I'm back in Japan when I drive along this narrow street with rock walls bordering the road at times along it. Imagine if you could be so lucky to live on this street AND have your yard back on to the Frog Pond Park behind you? Well - some lucky person will get to live exactly that! (Check out 38 Parkhill Road, Jollimore for more details about the house and property itself. Contact me if you'd like me to send you a link to that information or arrange to tour this great place. ) A few quick highlights: A woodstove! 3 beds, 2 baths. Interior character, especially in the flooring. A perfectly sized back deck, and not to mention that stunning veranda on the front. I can imagine an outdoor sauna in the back yard, can you?
The Frog Pond park offers a beautiful, peaceful setting to walk along paths and bridges, meandering around the pond. Or, walk down the hill to the Northwest Arm, ocean playground, literally, a playground with an ocean beach and an ocean view. A place to put in your kayak, canoe or other boat of preference.
In the wintertime, if the pond freezes over, people are known to clear off any snow and do a little ice skating or maybe a friendly neighbourhood game of hockey. Seriously, a wonderful community to be a part of whether you have dogs, kids, like to walk, skate, enjoy beautiful nature walks, views of the ocean, playing in the ocean and the list goes on. And all of this just a 5 minute drive from the peninsula. Incredible.
