Nordik Spas in Nova Scotia (and New Brunswick)

Updated: Nov 12, 2019

I am a huge fan on the Finnish Sauna and have been for 25 years. Only in the past year have I heard of Nordik spas and from what I can tell, they may be the same thing - thermal cycle of hot and then cold and repeat 2 or 3 or more times. It's a wonderful experience! The heat, the refreshing cool or cold and then the glow afterwards, I highly recommend it.

My husband and I tried out the USVA Spa in Moncton, New Brunswick last year. It was everything I'd hoped it would be. Two types of sauna, a warm pool, a cold pool and place to get buckets of cold water poured on you if that is your preference. (Not mine!)

There is a small spa in Chance Harbour that seems to have a lot of community charm to it.

According to allNovaScotia there are two new Nordik spas coming to Nova Scotia.

Coming soonest, December 1st, 2019, in fact, is Sensea Nordic Spa in Chester, Nova Scotia, approximately 1 hour drive from Halifax.

It will have multiple saunas and pool in a lake setting. You can bet I'll be one of the first customers. (Sign up for their newsletter/updates here.)

And further into the future we can look forward to Nova Nordique coming to the Peggy's Cove area of the Halifax Regional Municipality. I believe this one is expected to open in Spring 2021, offering an oceanfront environment.

I've always loved living in Nova Scotia but the future here is looking hot hot hot now and I am thoroughly delighted!

Interested in houses out Peggy's Cove way? Some of the small communities on the way to Peggy's Cove from Halifax are: West Dover (40km), White's Lake (21 km) , Brookside (19 km), from Citadel Hill in Halifax. (Updated: My next post will highlight an amazing house on White's Lake that is listed as of today!)
